Marco Matteucci - Kenosha St. Joseph

Marco is a model scholar athlete. He participates in Football, Wrestling, and Track & Field. He has provided more than 200 hours of community service with activities including Student Ambassador, Retreat Team member, Church Mission trips, festivals, and holiday events, as well as helping at the local food pantry and book drives. On the field Marco was the conference Defensive Player of the Year, 1st team All Conference on offense, and 1st Team All State DL. Marco was also captain for the past 2 seasons.

Marco’s essay states, “Football was the opportunity that I needed to learn the skills that I never could from behind a desk or in a textbook; it taught me how to be a leader, how to fine tune my work ethic, and overall, how to be a better man. As a captain, I represented not only my teammates, but also my school every time we stepped out onto the field. To lead with humility was the precedent put in place by my former captains as well as my coaches. I’ve learned so much over the past 4 years and because of that I know that if I had never played football, then I wouldn’t be half the man I am today.”

Marco plans to attend Marquette majoring in Biology on a pre med track.
