Caden Tolefree, Kenosha St. Joseph
Caden earned Defensive Player of the Year Honors and Honorable Mention All State recognition as a Linebacker. His off the field activities include basketball, Student Ambassador, volunteering at church as a youth leader and musician, as well as at a local food pantry with “Save the Youth”organization.
In his essay Caden writes: “Through high school football experiences you gain the trust and loyalty from your teammates and coaches. I had the perfect experience of this amazing bond when my coach and teammates surprised me at my baptism. As a captain of our team, I was able to model my leadership and who I am not just on the field but off the field as well. I feel blessed that they could share that moment with me. Another personal achievement I accomplished as a leader on the team is that it helped me to overcome the uncomfortable feeling of speaking and worrying about stuttering. The confidence I have gained through sports along with my faith have allowed me to stand in front of people without worrying or stuttering. I am thankful that high school football has had a positive impact on my life.”
